Philanthropy Is an Aspect of Delta Sigma Pi in Which We Take Great Pride In.

As a professional business fraternity, we believe that business has both a unique opportunity and a compelling duty to contribute to the community. Therefore, Delta Sigma Pi is dedicated to making a difference for the greater good of the community. The frequent community involvement instills brotherly values and camaraderie, all while developing our business skills.

There are a handful of community service events that Delta Sigma Pi enjoys to partake in every year. Every semester, Delta Sigma Pi partners up with the Promise Zone and Center of Civic Engagement to give food to children in need. We have also volunteered in soup kitchens and conducted resume workshops in middle schools. During the spring semester, the brothers of Delta Sigma Pi always participate in Relay for Life, to support the cancer society. Furthermore, at least once a semester, Delta Sigma Pi cleans up along our adopted portion of the highway in the Adopt-a-Highway program.

Since 2013, Delta Sigma Pi's biggest community service event has been our annual Purple with a Purpose event. Hosted in the fall semester, Purple with a Purpose is a talent show consisting of some of the best talents across campus, where all the proceeds are donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. We recognize the threat that Pancreatic Cancer is and, as it continues to affect thousands of people across the world every year, we refuse to let it be overlooked.

Participating in community service helps build bonds between those whom you are working with, which in turn improves your ability to work in a team. Teamwork allows people with common aspirations to attain uncommon, yet profound results. It becomes apparent that every community service event hosted by Delta Sigma Pi provides both the brothers and students a hands-on experience, allowing for more engaged and enthusiastic participation by all. The Brothers here at Delta Sigma Pi thoroughly enjoy serving its community and we will continue to serve our community to the best of our abilities. We hope to see you at our events!

With all this being said, Delta Sigma Pi is constantly looking for fresh and creative ways to give back to the community. If you have any ideas, do not hesitate to contact our Vice President of Community Service, Yuki Wada at kiyu.wada@gmail.com.
